Prince of Persia Classic on XBLA this June 13

Prince of Persia Classic out on XBLA this June 13 - Image 1Fans of Prince of Persia rejoice! An Ubisoft representative has confirmed that Prince of Persia Classic will be out this June 13 on Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA). No price has been announced yet but then again, how can you really put a price on a piece of history?

We say a piece of history because quite honestly, who can ever forget the original John Mechner game when it first came out in 1989 on the Apple II? Eventually, the title found its way to the PC and to other platforms.

Unlike most platformers, this game doesn’t start with you having means to defend yourself. You will essentially run away from the guys with swords until you get a weapon, and then you can finally take them on with impunity. Of course, you’ll also have to contend with the countless pits, traps, falling ceilings, not to mention pressure sensitive plates.

One thing we’ll keep an eye on is how well Prince of Persia Classic will stand up to other games considering it was given an update by Gameloft. Be sure to keep checking back here for more updates on Prince of Persia Classic.
