PS3 FW 3.40 launches today **UPDATE**

Heads up, PS3 owners. In preparation for the launching of the new PlayStation Plus initiative next week, Sony will release firmware 3.40 later today, June 22nd.

*UPDATE* According to Sony, the PS3 firmware 3.40 will not launch today, instead, it will go live next week.

Heads up, PS3 owners. In preparation for the launching of the new PlayStation Plus initiative next week, Sony will release firmware 3.40 later today, June 22nd.

 

 

The new firmware’s features have yet to be detailed, but Sony has already mentioned that 3.40 will be a prerequisite in order to avail of the PlayStation Plus features. Sony will be launching the premium PSN service on the 29th, so you have a week-long period to take some time to download and install the new firmware update.
