Homebrew developer xorloser has released a nifty app for the PS3. The PS3 SelfTool is homebrew application that can manipulate the PS3’s Self and Sprx files. This tool can be used to easily read stored files for further analysis.
The dev noted that this tool does not enable booting of copied games in any way and does not support decrypting or encrypting of self/sprx files. The purpose of the release is for people who are interested in further analyzing the PS3’s Self and Sprx files.
