PS3: Japan’s New Year hard-sell

We’ve already heard that Sony sold about 750,000 units of the PS3 by the end of the year here in the U.S. Now, ever wondered just how many units are being sold in Japan? We were wondering too, until we picked up these flickr pictures taken by pokemogu at Yodobashi.

We’re looking at several piles of PS3s still waiting for buyers. Strange though – given the initial shopping spurt the console picked up, we were hoping that this New Year’s going to look better for Sony’s contender. We’re sure a lot of people would love to get their hands on this console – but just find that its initial price tag to be all too intimidating. But like we said, we’re not about to count it out yet.

It’s just the start of the new year, and as the old movie cliche goes “It’s only the beginning.”
