PSP Headphones redesigned

Redesigned PSP headphones - Image 1Good news for those of us who love using the PSP headphones to get that much more out of the handheld’s MP3 player function (as well as conserving battery life without muting during gameplay) – the convenient little speakers that fit comfortably into your ears has been given a makeover.

Specifically, one that focuses on the small control disc that lets you play, pause or increase/decrease the volume with a simple button press.

So what’s the redesign all about? Well, you’ll be glad to know that while the headphones themselves are still their comfy, earbud-shaped selves, the button layout of the control disc has been mixed up a bit so that the chances of you pressing the wrong one by mistake is somewhat minimized.

For example, the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons have been moved to the upper and lower portions of the disc’s outer ring. What used to be the volume control buttons are now the ones you use to advance or repeat tracks, and the center button is now solely dedicated to the Pause/Play function. This way, you won’t accidentally skip forward or rewind when you’re just looking to pause your favorite track, and vice-versa.

Definitely a great update for those of us looking to score another pair of quality headphones from Sony – here’s hoping it comes with the PSP-2000 bundles currently available for pre-order. Updates as we get them!
