PSP WiFile Transfer v0.01

WiFile Transfer - Image 1We don’t know Portugese but we do know cool. Needless to say, Luiz Pestana is way cool. He’s currently working on a PSP WiFile Transfer, a new FTP server program that’ll work on the latest custom firmwares. That being said, he let us know of its debut release, which brings us to this article on PSP WiFile Transfer v0.01.

According to Luiz, he based his work on Zx-81‘s PSPFTD, which was originally meant for 1.5 firmwares. He also says that PSP WiFile Transfer will benefit developers who use WiFi WPA cryptography protocol and DHCP. Since the program can work with 3.03 OE-B, you can definitely call this the beginning of a great new app.

Why do we say “beginning?” Well, it’s a debut, so expect some bugs here and there. Furthermore, the actual release lacks a readme, which makes it a bit more daunting for newbies to PC-to-PSP wireless connectivity. He does mention some basic installation instructions on his site though:

The PSP WiFile Transfer is made at OE firmware rules, then it run in user mode and because of this its cant have risk to brick your PSP. The homebrew must be placed in GAME folder, not in GAME150 like old ones.

Perhaps some enterprising soul can help him out with making the next release even better? Send some comments and technical suggestions his way and let him know you support his project.
