PSPMancala v1.01

PSPMancala

Mancala is an East African board game which can be as engaging as Chess. It comes in various versions and PSPMancala v1.01 by Zx-81 s the “Awari” variant.

Awari is played on a board where each player has six pits. The game begins with all pits filled with four stones – the initial position has 48 stones. The player to move chooses one of his own pits and removes all stones from it. The player then puts (sows) the stones, counterclockwise, into the remaining pits.

If the last stone ends up in an enemy pit that contains 2 or 3 stones after sowing, the stones are captured. If the second to the last pit is also an enemy pit that contains 2 or 3 stones, they are captured as well. The process is repeated clockwise, until one’s pit, or an enemy pit containing less than 2 or more than 3 stones is reached.

The player who captures the most stones wins the game. The game ends when a player cannot move. However, to avoid an early game over, it is not allowed to do a move that leaves the opponent without counter move, unless all moves eradicate the opponent.

To install:
Unzip the zip file, and copy the content of the directory FW2.x or FW1.5 on the psp/game directory. It has been developed on linux for Firmware 1.5

To play:

  • Cross: Valid
  • Cursor: Move on the board
  • Select: PSPMancala menu

The complete details about the PSPMancala v1.01 can be found in the readme file.
