NCSoft's Tabula Rasa MMORPG - Image 1If you’ve been looking for more updates on Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa, you might be happy to find out that NCsoft has finally commented on the Staff ability, and why it was so broken when it first came out. In addition, they’ve also come out with the regular Feedback Friday column which discusses all of the major changes that have happened within the week.

Apparently, the Staff ability wasn’t supposed to hit the servers yet. However, some parts of it got leaked to the server due to an integration error. A hotfix was immediately introduced which reduces its damage by 1/5. This change made the staff rather weak, so developers plan on making more improvements to this in the future.

The Feedback Friday last December 14 also gave out a few details that will change Tabula Rasa in a major way. Lead Designer Paul Sage said that the different stat points placed in Body, Mind, Spirit, and Health will now have an effect on other abilities:

  • Body points will now add a bonus to your armor rating.
  • Mind points will now add a bonus to your ability damage.
  • Spirit points will now add a bonus to your chance to deliver critical hits.
  • Health has now been upped for all characters.

These changes will require players to respec their characters. While this might cause some players to complain, the developers believe that these changes are necessary to make the game much more balanced.

There were other changes to the game that were discussed that players might want to know. Follow our source link to read the entire Feedback Friday post.
