Rolling Out the Xtreme Legal Firmware Patch for Toshiba-Samsung Xbox 360

Xbox360Here’s what the A Teams Veteran Lupin calls as the Legal ToshibaSamsung firmware patch for Commodore4eva‘s Xtreme firmware. It still allows TS Xbox 360 users to run backup copies of their games; the difference is that this firmware patch contains no copywritten material and will not require you to insert a DVD key.

To use this patch, just run it on DOS from a boot diskette or CD (as noted by Lupin, Windows 98’s install disc has a boot into DOS Option) then type “patch p myfirm.bin”, just replace ‘myfirm.bin’ with the name of your firmware. To uninstall the patches, you’d need to type “patch u myfirm.bin”.

You will still need a backup of your firmware to patch first. This means you would have to use the included MTKFlash and the command “mtkflash r /m orig.bin” at the DOS prompt. Since DOS will not recognize NTFS, you have to make sure that the MTKFlash and Patch files are on a FAT32 formatted HDD or thumb drive.

Just check out the download’s included ReadMe MTK file for more info on how to run this firmware patch.
