Rumor: MGS4 shown in Famitsu with June 12 release date

We’ve been waiting for news of a definite release date for Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the Sony PS3, sadly, there haven’t been any official announcements regarding it. Today, we’ve caught news of MGS4‘s launch date appearing within Famitsu‘s pages. Busted, Plausible, or Confirmed? Check out the full article.

Here’s something that may be music to a lot of people’s ears. Something big came out of the NeoGAF forums and it has something to do with Konami Digital and Kojima Productions’ much awaited title, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. What is it about? Try putting the words “release date” and MGS4 together in the same sentence.

According to the thread in question’s opening post, an image supposedly from Famitsu shows MGS4 sporting a release date: 2008.06.12. Yes, that’s June 12, 2008. It does fall under the planned Q2 release, but so far, there haven’t been any official announcements. We can cross our fingers and hope that we can trust the date, and maybe pray that the game doesn’t suffer another delay.

Well, we’ll have to wait for official word about this. Until then, we advise you to take this bit of news with a grain of salt (some noticed that there was something wrong with the text alignment on the image) while we try and dig up more news. Stay tuned.
