RUMOR: World of Warcraft could run on iPhone and video iPod?

iPhone World has an exclusive report regarding World of Warcraft, it seems. An anonymous tip they got from a “reliable source” mentioned that Apple’s iPhone and new video iPod will be able to run World of Warcraft.

The source mentioned that you’ll be using the touch screen interface to play the game and that it was already demonstrated on the rumored new video iPod – said to be blessed with the same touchscreen technology that the iPhone has.

A very juicy rumor, but could it be true? From our perspective, all we can say is “Shenanigans!” If you’d recall, Blizzard has been emphasizing a keyboard and mouse as essentials to play and enjoy WoW. If the iPhone (who is said to have a very powerful ARM11 processor) or the rumored new video iPod could really run the game, who would want to play it on a very small screen?

Well, maybe some really small gamers with really small limbs… but then again, wouldn’t ants have trouble paying for membership?
