SanDisk To Acquire Rival Company Lexar?

It has been reported previously that Micron Technology might acquire Lexar Media in its quest to diversify its business and enter the flash chips market. Now, however, there have been rumors that SanDisk is also interested in bidding for Lexar Media.

Insiders say that SanDisk has already hired advisors to consult about and assess the possible acquisition of Lexar Media. SanDisk is also one of the biggest makers of flash chips so this merger/acquisition of rival Lexar is still uncertain.

If SanDisk tries to buy out Lexar Media, they it has to come up with a better deal than the $700M bid of Micron Technology.
