ScrewAttack: PS3 auctions for charity

CraigAs the “Life of Brian” song goes, “Always look on the brighter side of life…” Well, given the level of ugly we’ve been looking at since the PS3 launch a few days ago, from the muggings, the spamming, the shootings, the robberies, the lawsuits – okay, that’s enough – we thought it was about time we took a deep breath, and saw if like every good war story, this launch brought out the more humane side of gaming.

ScrewAttack just posted this vid about the success of their recently concluded Launch for Charity movement, where ScrewAttack’s Stuttering Craig lines up, buys a PS3, and sells auctions online. The proceeds will benefit the Penny Arcade“>Child’s Play charity program, in turn run by Penny Arcade.

Craig was happy to report over at their site that they managed to raise a cool sum of US$ 3,200 over the launch event. The vid shows the last few hours of his camp-out, followed by his tired whoops of joy, and ending with him waiting again…for the Wii launch day. We’re hoping the video puts a smile on your face.
