Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection: smoothing can be turned off, aspect ratio support
A lot of fans of the old Sega games gave a whoop of joy when they announced the Mega Drive Ultimate Collection for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 – then they saw the screenshots. Fortunately, Sega has clarified that the smoothing filters that make the games look “splotchy” can be turned off.

Personally I don’t have a problem with smoothing, having gone through as many emulators as I have. It’s nice to know I have the option of reliving the authentic retro feel though.
Sega has also confirmed that the games can be displayed in various aspect ratio settings:
The games will display at whatever ratio your console is set at – 4:3 or 16:9. If playing in 16:9 the game will fit and not have black borders at the side.
