Silver Platter Launches First in Line of Indie UMD Videos

The first Indie UMD Studio has announced that they will be releasing their first titles on January 3rd. Silver Platter will be Releasing The DC Video, a classic skate film with a rocking soundtrack, alongside the ski film Teddybear Crisis and the snowboarding film The Community Project.

Silver Platter’s website claims that they are only interested in media that works well for the portable UMD format, and then they produce, distribute, and market those titles worldwide. They emphasize short-form content that can be watched for five minutes as easily as for five hours. They definitely do not require that it fit into an extreme sports genre.

The concept of independent development on the PSP is not a new one, but this is one more step toward that concept becoming a reality. Best of luck to Silver Platter!
