Now that Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) has revealed Siren: New Translation for the PlayStation 3, we all expect to learn more about the mysterious stealth-heavy survival horror title prior to its July 24 release. Famitsu didn’t hold back and unleashed plenty of details and screenshots of the game.

Like its predecessors, Siren: New Translation features several characters stuck in a creepy place. From what we can gather, the series’ latest installment is set in Japan’s snake village Haniu where people of various backgrounds have gathered.

The “New Translation” part of the title refers to the eight protagonists who set foot on foreign land from America to investigate shady events that took place in previous Siren games. Uncovering the secrets won’t be easy, since the lengthy trip will span across 12 stand-alone episodes.

Luckily, treading the village is said to be more fast-paced with the introduction of enhanced combat and characters that can use objects from their environment as weapons to fight. PS3 owners who have access to the Japanese PlayStation Network can experience Siren: New Translation firsthand this April 24, when the game’s demo is scheduled to launch.
