SOE: “Something around” The Agency to be playable in weeks

Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley is teasing that gamers will finally be seeing “something around” their upcoming espionage-themed MMO, The Agency, soon.

 

 

 

 

Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley is teasing that gamers will finally be seeing “something around” their upcoming espionage-themed MMO, The Agency, soon.

 

Smedley recently told GameTrailers: “You are going to see The Agency. Here’s an interesting comment I’ll make: you’re going to see something around The Agency very soon, like weeks. And I mean playing within weeks.”

 

It sounds like a hint about a beta, but Smedley’s additional statement seems to point to some kind of spin-off: “And the MMO itself, you’re going to be seeing that… I don’t want to give an exact time frame when we’re ready to release it,” he added.

 

A while back, SOE filed a trademark for something called “The Agency Covert Ops”, so perhaps this is the playable version Smedley means. The Agency still doesn’t have a release date, nor have we seen any assets in a while, but Smedley has said before that we might be able to see it this year.
