Sony keeps mum about new PS3 starter pack rumors

Rumored new PS3 starter pack (image from Robinspain of the NeoGAF forums) - Image 1Sony has so far decided not to release any official word on the rumored new PlayStation 3 starter pack for Europe. It’s been almost a month since these rumors first surfaced. The rumor has been recently bolstered by new images of the alleged pack, however.

The new PS3 starter pack will allegedly replace the two games – MotorStorm and Resistance: Fall of Man – included in the currently available starter pack with new release Heavenly Sword and launch title Formula One Championship Edition.

This is the only change rumored to come with the new PS3 starter pack. The hardware included in the pack – a 60GB PS3 and two Sixaxis controllers – will remain the same. The 599 Euro (US$ 820) price tag will also reportedly remain unchanged.

There have been earlier reports that the European PS3 starter pack will be available for a limited time only. SCEE President David Reeves said late last month however that SCEE will be rolling out more PS3 bundles containing different games in lieu of a price cut.
