Sony May Have Opted To Delay PS3 Launch Than To Release It With Missing Features?

After the news of the delay of PS3 launch date by four months, the ultimate question is, “What happens to Sony now?” To make the situation more worse, Sony‘s manufacturing process is also under customers’ scrutiny as millions of Sony-made personal computer batteries are recalled due to its potential of being a fire-hazard.

All of these issues has raised concerns on Sony’s manufacturing process. As for investors, the worries include setbacks on Sony’s reputation as a top-class manufacturer with the ability to deliver quality products to the market on time. The reactions on the news including the delay has been negative but if you will look it on another angle, Sony has decided to delay the launch of the PS3 console to ensure that they will be delivering a world-class product.

We already know that the delay was caused by a shortage in a key component in producing the Blu-ray feature of PS3. In fairness to Sony, they have been honest as to the real situation of the problem and the delay is indeed inevitable.

Surely, Sony would be really happy to deliver the consoles to anxious fans just in time for Christmas but to deliver consoles that are lacking several components will not reflect good on their company.
