Special OXM360 issue to come with sound

While they can’t offer videos and other media as easily as its online counterparts, printed glossy mags are still a good way to stay in-the-know about the gaming scene. Thanks to a sound chip inserted into its pages, however, The Official Xbox Magazine will be accompanied by some audio in its next issue.

Thanks to a sound chip inserted into its pages, however, The Official Xbox Magazine will be accompanied by some audio in its next issue.

 

The next issue will be made special in celebration of the launch of Crackdown 2 on July 9th, so OXM partnered up with Universal McCann, McCann Erickson, and Future360 to bring “distinctive in-game orb sound effect” to the pull-out Pacific CIty Newsletter.

 

The magazine will also feature a five-page review of Crackdown 2, five exclusive Gamer Pictures from the game, and an orb-finding contest where the winner takes home a very limited edition Crackdown 2-themed Xbox 360.

 

There will also be 20 other Xbox-exclusive games featured in this special issue including Halo: Reach, Gears of War 3. There will also be the full lineup for Kinect, and details about the new 250GB Xbox 360.

 

This special issue hits newsstands and retailers on July 8th, a day before the release of Crackdown 2.
