Spinout: Release date and details

Spinout packshot - Image 1Remember that really, really old announcement we made about a game under works by UK-based publisher Goslight? The company has just announced that its Spinout title being developed by Icon has stepped into the light, and will soon be ready for launch.

This new title puts the driver/pilot behind the controls of a Xorb – a cross between a mercury ball and an F1 racer – as it races through some of the most hazardous courses this game has to offer. As for the upcoming feaures:

  • Over 50 courses are provided across 9 environments, each with their own set of bonus items and power-ups.
  • Use money saved up between races to either upgrade your machine or give it a custom paint job (how does one paint a metal sphere?).
  • Extra game modes, Xorbs, race classes and multiplayer modes are provided as unlockable features
  • Multiplayer Wi-Fi games for up to 4 players.

The game is set to launch this March 30 in the U.K. at a retail price of £ 24.99. For the guys who fancy something as rounded out as Mercury Meltdown, and something as portable and speed-inclined as Burnout: Dominator, set your calendars. Also check out our previous post to see how this title will look.
