Final Fantasy world. Yes, the one and only famed universe that’s breathing a life on its own from Square Enix. Apparently, or at least as the rumors would have it, Square Enix was one of the publishers that GRIN alluded to when the co-owners cited delayed payments as the cause for their company’s shutdown.

Say what again? Square Enix, a delinquent payer? Allegedly, yes. And even more shocking, Squeenix was said to have owed GRIN millions of dollars.

This article is most certainly getting to be more incredulous by the second, but before you cry out FAKE, hear this out.

After the announcement of GRIN’s closure, resumes and portfolios have been brought to the open seeming to confirm this said project. There was even this batch of concept arts from a canceled project between GRIN and Square Enix. Its title was “Fortress.”

While this all should obviously be water under the bridge now – we cannot undo what has been done – it sure remains interesting to find out what went down (or didn’t) that led to this unfortunate circumstance for GRIN.
