The Square Enix Virtual World, which will launch next week in Japan, is an exclusive PC service for members of Square Enix. It’s highly reminiscent of other virtual worlds such as Second Life or Home, only with Square Enix RPG motifs such as chocobos.

For the moment, the spotlight will be on Chocobo‘s Mysterious Dungeon as far as ads in the Virtual World go, but Square Enix will also be plugging their other games via this service. Chocobo’s Mysterious Dungeon has been scheduled for commercial release in Japan on December 13.
