The 1000th issue of the popular Japanese magazine revealed that the game will be released this April 2 in Japan, as well as additional details on the enhanced remake for the Sony handheld.

No, it’s not another Final Fantasy game, but its renown is no less prestigious – we’re talking about Star Ocean: Second Evolution.

The release date for the game was revealed in the 1000th issue of Famitsu, with Star Ocean: Second Evolution going live in Japan this April 2. The game is the second title in the Star Ocean series and follows the release of its previous iteration on the handheld with Star Ocean: First Departure.

Taking a look at the scan, it reveals some of the old characters‘ beautifully rendered artworks for the game. It also includes some of the other new additions the PSP version of Star Ocean 2 will sport, such as the pre-rendered backgrounds and 3D battlefields as well as the extensive amount of voice acting added to the title.
