StarCraft 2 developer interview video

Enough info to overload Aiur’s warp drives in this video update of StarCraft 2, Blizzard‘s highly-anticipated sequel to the critically-acclaimed RTS game Starcraft. We get you the facts and just the facts faster than a Zerg rush frenzy.

In this video, we learn more about the people behind StarCraft 2 and what they’re doing to preserve the feel of the first game while creating more content. Taking into account that many gamers consider StarCraft as the “perfect game”, they really had to think about what they could create, what could they take from the game, and what they had to cut out in order to make room for new stuff.

We also get the confirmation that StarCraft 2 will NOT be a WarCraft III with StarCraft characters. Not only is the feel of the game different, but it’s pretty much a hardcoded guideline for the developers to differentiate the two titles. Examples of what they’ve done to do so is the decision not to include items in the game, as well as Hero units.

Tons more info (as well as neat-looking bits of gameplay) in the video embed below. Enjoy!
