Gizmodo is right there in the thick of the action at the invite-only event as Steve Jobs continues to talk about his new toy. The screen of this tablet is 10 inches from corner to corner. Gizmodo reports that “it’s got a significantly smaller footprint than the smallest MacBook, but a much larger screen than the iPhone.”

There are also two ways you can hold it: Portrait Mode, which appears to be the main mode; and Landscape Mode, which should be ideal for watching and reading media. “The screen’s aspect ratio is closer to 4:3 than 16:9, meaning that it’s not a widescreen like the iPhone or a MacBook, and more of a bi-directional tablet,” says the report.

Things are still going hot live at the event, we’ll keep you guys posted for updates.
