Yet another turn-based strategy RPG title is coming to the Nintendo DS thanks to Sting Entertainment, developer of Riviera: The Promised Land and Yggdra Union. Titled Knights in the Nightmare, this one is said to be the fourth installment in the Dept. Heaven series which initial entry is Riviera then followed by Yggdra Union.

Unlike traditional turn-based RPGs, Knights in the Nightmare is going to be in real-time. According to Famitsu, players have limited time to make their turns as each move seamlessly flows. It will don an isometric camera like many others of its genre, but the scan leads us to believe it’s nowhere near Final Fantasy Tactics or other similar games in terms of gameplay.

The main character is a wisp that also participates in battle, though the meat of your actual party is in the knights you are able to control. Using the Stylus, you have to protect yourself by letting your subjects fend off demons that intend to attack.

Sting Entertainment revealed other details in Famitsu, such as the introduction of heroine knight Maria and the involvement of Shinichi Itou who played a major role in Yggdra Union‘s development. The top screen will display combat, while the bottom is used to control your knights. Knights in the Nightmare is scheduled for release later this year in Japan, and since Atlus picked up previous Dept. Heaven titles, it could very well reach the west.
