There will be an official launch at Virgin Megastores‘ flagship Oxford Street branch, but aside from that, specialist and independent stores all across the UK will be opening at midnight to fulfill pre-orders and sell consoles to everyone who can’t wait to get their hands on the machine.

Some retailers even have worked with Sony to create specially made PS3 concept bays in their stores. Veteran retailers are finding the PS3 console buzz quite exciting. They’ve never seen such an anticipation for a product quite like the way fans are watching out for the PS3, even from a week away from the launch.
