Super Smash Bros Brawl: delay confirmed, Distant Planet update - Image 1We hate to be the bearer of bad news but the official Smash Bros. DOJO! website has just confirmed all the rumors circulating around. Super Smash Bros. Brawl will not be able to make its scheduled release date.

To compensate, fans are being treated to other goodies in the form of a Stage update for the Distant Planet stage. To know why it was delayed and to learn about this stage, go to the full article via the “read more” link.

It seems like all the rumors are correct after all. The official Smash Bros. DOJO! website has just been updated informing all awaiting Nintendo Wii owners that Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed.

Video game concept designer Masahiro Sakurai, the man responsible for Brawl from Sora Ltd., posted the following explanation:

Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, weÂ’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th. I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.

To compensate, Smash Bros. DOJO! has also posted another round of updates for the game. This time, we get to know more about the Stage simply known as the Distant Planet. Basically, this is where Captain Olimar was forced to make an emergency landing.

The flooring of the middle of the stage is made out of vines and is very bouncy. Aside from that, this planet is also home to Pellet Posies which drop numbered pellets. These, then, can be thrown into a nearby Onion to obtain items.

Distant Planet also gets visited by torrential rains. When this occurs, we highly suggest that you stay away from the hill on the left as it gets very treacherous. There are also creatures willing to gobble you up waiting around this particular stage.

That’s about it for now for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Again, the new release date for this Nintendo Wii exclusive is no longer in February but on March 9.
