Super Smash Bros. Brawl update – Attacks 101

It’s always good to know how the attacks go before going into a fight, hence our Super Smash Bros. Brawl lesson of the day: Attacks 101.

As with any fighting game, certain buttons unleash an attack, normally a kick or a punch. Players can control the strength of attacks by adding certain button combinations. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there are a number of attacks you can use to send opponents into oblivion: standard, strong, smash, and charged attacks.

The standard attack involves a simple press of a button (A on the Nunchuck-Wiimote combo and GC controllers, B on the Classic controller, and 2 on the sideways Wiimote). The charged attacks require players to hold the attack buttons, then it all boils down to perfect timing to let go of attacks. Strong attacks, on the other hand, can be accomplished by pressing a direction button with the attack button. Smash attacks can be done by tapping a direction button quickly together with the attack button.

You can check out the screenshots below to get a better idea of how attacks are going to be done in Nintendo‘s Super Smash Bros. Brawl. They’re pretty simple and easy to remember.

Check out the button combos and screenshots right after the jump!
