Supreme Commander to have Google-maps style feature

Supreme Commander packshot - Image 1Gas Powered Games sure is one of the few teams that we can say are really focused on making their products better. Why? Well, it’s only been weeks since they released their RTS for the PC, Supreme Commander, and yet rumors are already coming out about working on an expansion and now, they’re working on a patch that will reportedly have some Google-maps style feature.

According to FiringSquad, the dev team has reportedly built a map of Earth through which players will be able to access and join multiplayer matches in progress by clicking on various map locations where they are taking place. The map will also show the status of multiplayer matches as well as the game’s current top 10 players.

Chris Taylor has described the map as “a way to visualize the worldwide community, really showing where these people are.” At a recent THQ press event, Taylor also dropped hints on another game already cooking up in Gas Powered Games’ labs. No details yet but rest assured we’ll keep you posted.
