Tales of Dagur released!

LiraNuna has released Tales of Dagur, a RPG for the NDS, in the NeoFlash Coding Competition 2006. This has got to be one of the greatest looking releases for the NDS system for this competition and has blown me away. The sprites actually look as if it was from a retail game and plays like one too! I’m very satisfied with this great release and the only thing that is stopping me from playing it more than what I have already is that there is no save function yet, but this shouldn’t be much of a concern right now (also, the magic system is not in yet, nor are the sound affects). There are also some random crashes that have been occurring for me, but each time I play, they are less frequent. The game is very solid for the first release, so good job on that!

The one thing I like about this RPG is the story line, sweet, short and simple! It only took me about 30 seconds to actually get to move around, so I was very happy about that. When you get outside of the castle, you can immediately fight man-eating chickens in the town! The battle system is much like a Final Fantasy game. You run around and hopefully an enemy will pop up and you will battle it. I have only fought chickens so far and found that they can do quite a lot of damage! Great release LiraNuna and good luck to you and everyone else in the competition!

LiraNuna has also worked with others on this project, and I thought they deserved a mention as well for brining the NDS this nice RPG:

Code: LiraNuna
Moral support and font tileset: Chetic
Storyboard, Script, & Music collection: RVman
Graphics: Enterbrain
Mapping and level design: Nikolas Lahtinen
Beta-testing: Cameron, Chetic and Nikolas
Special thanks to Rat for the amazing splash screen!

PS: Sorry for the cracked top screen in the screenshot, that is just the way my NDS is until I can afford a new one. Also, view the Readme for more information on the game (available with download).
