Taming challenge complete: Detrafila successfully tamed by hunters

Wouldn't you want him for a pet too? - Image 1Here’s a bit of news about Blizzard‘s World of Warcraft we don’t see everyday – a challenge posted by Mania’s Arcania, a website that focuses on the pets of the Hunter Class, has recently been accomplished by two intrepid hunters – and while this may seem a bit trivial, it actually isn’t, as the target was a particularly high-leveled critter, surrounded by higher-leveled Horde. Not bad at all!

The pet in question? The Shadowmoon Village stablemaster’s pet wolf, Detrafila, weighing in around a formidable level 60. Of course, while it may not seem to be much of a challenge for the players with stronger, more better-equipped avatars, it’s also something to consider that Detrafila itself isn’t alone, with level 70 Horde to keep it company.

So that presents a problem to those wanting to tame the beast, as they have the Horde to contend with.

So what did the daring duo, Dezar on Black Dragonflight and Gettokiwi on Stormreaver do? They got rid of the stablemaster first by kiting him away from the village itself, wailing on him till he dropped, and then tamed Detrafila in relative peace. The taming went exceedingly well, and while the wolf itself didn’t have any unique qualities, it was certainly a good notch in the two Hunters’ belts to tame such a creature in a situation that isn’t really good taming conditions.

This neat little event does bring up some good points, though. Wouldn’t it be cool if Blizzard added in legendary tameable pets that you’d have to work really hard for? It’d be a nice diversion from all the item-hunting, and there’s really nothing like coming away with a sworn enemy’s pet. Fingers crossed.
