Team 17: Smooth sailing for Lemmings

lemmings - Image 1 If the PlayStation 3 demo pack for Team 17‘s Lemmings is any point of reference, it seems the team experienced little difficulty when Lemmings was transitioned into downloadable content for the PS3.

“Largely speaking, we’ve had little problem adopting to the PlayStation3,” said Team17 studio director Martyn Brown. “But then again it would be foolhardy to assume we are ‘bashing the metal’ on the hardware with Lemmings as much as something like Heavenly Sword or MotorStorm.”

Brown went further on to dispel the previous rumors that developing for the PS3 would require massive amounts of resources for any studio that decided to endorse Sony’s console. “There’s certain elements of that ring true, but only for titles that are wildly ambitious in terms of range and content detail, but as for day-to-day development, we’ve more or less taken it in our stride.”

This is said in light of Sony’s recent announcements for their March 23rd launch in Europe. Given that several other studios have kept mum in light of a recent NDA with Sony, we’ll await further comments from their side.
