Tekken 6: E3 2005 and 2006 comparison

This one’s a quick comparison of two version we’ve seen for Tekken 6. The image on the left was taken during E3 2005, the one on right for E3 2006. Can you spot the difference?

Now, aside from the fact that Jin’s lost a couple of pounds in the 2006 pic, the first thing we noticed was 2006’s lack of detailing. The 2005 pic, on the other hand, was showing off just what sort of texturing “magic” would be featured with the PS3’s. Notice the sweaty gleam of his skin.

To be fair, we’ll assume that the 2005 picture’s a pre-rendered piece, given 2005 was promo season for the game. As for the picture on the right – given it’s shots from a gameplay demo, we’ll chalk it up to that. The devs probably had to sacrifice detailing to bring the game up to full speed.

As a warning though: We’ve picked up hints that the image on the right might be fake, so just keep your eyes peeled. Given the number of versions of this pic we’ve been spotting on the web, that could be tricky.
