TGS 2006 crowd comprises more women than E3 2006

TGS 2006

The Tokyo Game Show was invaded! No, not the alien kind but by women and children. According to a quick census made by the Joystiq team, the TGS crowd was approximately comprised by 25% of women and 2.8% children. And take note, the quick census was made at around 10AM – after most of the booth ladies were required to be in costume and posted at their show-floor stations so the number of women and children may be higher than the numbers indicated by the informal census.

Unlike E3, the Tokyo Game Show allows the general public to attend during the final two days so this may be the cause why TGS has much higher attendance than E3. In addition to that, E3 focuses more at the press, retailers and game developers while TGS is more lenient to allow the public, specifically women and children to participate in the event
