TGS 2007: Rumble-enabled SIXAXIS sighted

PS3 news from TGS - Image 1During Electronic Arts‘ pre-Tokyo Game Show press event, the existence of a rumble-enabled PS3 controller has been confirmed. This according to IGN.

Apparently, the IGN team at the press event first experienced the rumble-enabled SIXAXIS controller while playing a demo of EA’s Burnout Paradise (PS3, Xbox 360).

The controller reportedly looked just like a standard SIXAXIS controller but was noticeably heavier and had a “RUMBLE” sticker on the bottom. According to IGN, the rumble generated by the controller “felt around the level of PlayStation 2 rumble”.

Technical details about Sony‘s new rumble controller are still scarce, but an announcement is expected to be made during Kaz Hirai’s keynote address tomorrow. Keep checking back here for more updates.
