The Horde: PVE improving?

In Blizzard‘s World of Warcraft, creating a character is not simple. Aside from the obvious questions like which class to choose and profession to take, you have to consider whether you’re going to focus on Player versus Elements (PVE) or Player versus player (PVP). Now the common consensus before the expansion was that the Alliance was better at PVE while the Horde dominated PVP. Since both sides now have access to all the available classes it seems that the Horde is catching up.

Now many theories regarding this have been popping up. One such theory of note has something to do with the smaller horde community. Because everyone pretty much knows everyone else (one big happy, creepy family) it’s easier to pick and recruit for guilds, which results in better quality players engaging in boss hunts. What’s rather amusing though, is the fact that most Horde Paladins are geared for PVE while Alliance Shamans are being bred to become PVP monsters. Turn-around is fair play right?

So, if things are evening out in the PVE circle, shouldn’t we be expecting the same phenomenon to be occurring in the PVP circles of World of Warcraft? All things considered, the playing field is now even, and to paraphrase the words of King Leonidas from 300 “Madness? This is Warcraaaft!”
