The reason for Halo 3’s absence from 2007 BAFTA Awards

Halo 3 - Image 1Now that the nominees for this year’s BAFTA Awards have been revealed, some of you might be wondering why Halo 3 isn’t anywhere on the list. A report from Pro-G reveals the reason: Microsoft didn’t enter it.

Apparently, Microsoft declined to enter Halo 3 in the BAFTA Awards because it didn’t want the jurors to make a decision based on a half-finished version of the game. Additionally, entering Halo 3 as a pre-release game would have limited it to being eligible for awards in two categories only.

If Halo 3 had been entered, it would have gone up against the likes of Gears of War and Bioshock. As it stands, the game will be going up against Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Grand Theft Auto 4 (PS3, Xbox 360) in next year’s awards.
