The Wii: A video biography

Everything has a story to tell.

We picked up this three-part youtube from Wii.TV. It was created by DVM258, and it’s a vid regarding the Wii from its release as the Revolution, to just a few days ago. We thought you guys would like it, all the more as it felt like come celebrity’s biography, or a behind-the-scenes vid that makes the Wii itself all the more interesting.

The first vid takes place on the Nintendo DS’ launch by Reggie Fils-Aime, as he goes on to mention the features on Nintendo’s latest handheld. He’s followed by Satoru-san, who announces the the Revolution, which was still black. While there was much hype about this back then, there wasn’t much hard data for the fans to work with, Nintendo keeping it all under wraps until the last minute.

More on the Wii bios after this jump!

We picked up this three-part youtube from Wii.TV, and it’s a vid regarding the Wii from its release as the Revolution, to news clips from just a few days ago. We thought you guys would like it, all the more as it felt like come celebrity’s biography, or a behind-the-scenes vid that makes the Wii itself all the more interesting.

The first vid takes place on the Nintendo DS’ launch hosted by Reggie Fils-Aime, as he goes on to mention the features on Nintendo’s latest handheld. He’s followed by Satoru-san, who announces the the Revolution, which was still black. While there was much hype about this back then, there wasn’t much hard data for the fans to work with, Nintendo keeping it all under wraps until the last minute.

The second vid comes to us beginning at the 2005 TGS, when Nintendo finally lifts the shroud on the Revolution, with trailers that demoed the new console’s abilities. It was cool…until they mentioned the name change to Wii, and then came the remarks, and the toilet humor. Name change aside, though, it had a huge fan following, as seen later on in the clip.

Lastly, We’ve got Reggie again, now the Nintendo America President, showing more of the Wii, as they introduced the latest feature for the Wii at the time: the Wii channel, specifically the Mii channel and the photo channel.

Well, it wouldn’t be fun to say anything, lest Wii (Sorry, wii couldn’t resist) spoil your viewing pleasure.
Enjoy the vids, and let us know what you think.
