This shall be our finest hour: Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1 patch Beta begins Thursday
Wake up people! Ironclad Games has finally announced the start of the Beta testing for the major 1.1 patch coming to Sins of a Solar Empire. If you’ve been keen on the news, you’d know that the Beta was previously announced some time ago, though the session’s ETA has been elusive. Today, however, Ironclad has posted up on the Sins of a Solar Empire official forums that the test begins this week, and you’d better call all crew to battlestations while we brief you with the particulars. This is where we stand, Commanders: Ironclad Games has just let slip the news that the Beta of patch v1.1 of Sins of a Solar Empire is about to start on July 24, a Thursday this week. If it’s not July 24 yet in your region, don’t be worried – even if many start early today, the test is bound to run for quite a while until all issues are sorted.
Our mission, if you choose to accept it, is to run the gauntlet to fulfill the bug-finding objectives, and strike the heart of major gameplay issues that arise and could possibly arise before the patch can be released. So if you are a willing participant, you must accept that your feedback and suggestions are highly prized and recommended.
Commanders will be armed with a beta installation provided via Stardock‘s Impulse, which will allow players to download the version 1.1 Beta of Sins of a Solar Empire to their hard drives. There is no other way to get the copy officially, so keep that in mind.
Also take note that upon installation, the Beta will effectively take over your original installation, upgrading you to v1.1 Beta (currently labelled v1.09 Beta – don’t be alarmed) for the moment until the final version is ready.
