If Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, StarCraft 2, and Empire: Total War wasn’t enough to satisfy players’ appetites for tactical brain-twisting, then THQ‘s got another real-time strategy game serving. This time, it’s got Warhammer 40,000 sprinkled all over it. Welcome Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Soulstorm for Windows PCs worldwide.

The new standalone installment will introduce two more races (including the Dark Eldar) into the feuding seven of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and will take elements of previous installments for a strategic facelift. Coupled with new airborne units and a planetary-wide strategic meta-game, players will have to wield new additional units to conquer an entire star system.

Soulstorm will also include multiplayer medals (Command & Conquer-ish, EA’s later generation) as awards to the most skillful of tactical and strategic commanders. So keep glued to this space while the game ushers itself toward a Spring 2008 release, by none other than RTS veterans Relic Entertainment.
