The makers of the successful Zoo Tycoon, Blue Fang Games, joined forces with publisher THQ to create a new video game property for the Nintendo Wii, DS, and PC that is expected to hit shelves in 2010.

THQ‘s announcement of the deal did not include any details, but the new franchise will most likely involve casual games akin to Zoo Tycoon which reportedly sold over seven million units across all platforms.

“We’re confident that this new property will strongly appeal to the new generation of casual players on Nintendo Wii and DS,” said Scott Guthrie, THQ’s executive vice president of publishing.

Looking back to Blue Fang Games‘ previous offerings, it does seem reasonable to believe we’re in for a new batch of light-hearted strategy games for the whole family. Details on the new property will surface soon, and we’re sure to keep you posted, so watch this space for updates!
