Today’s console numbers
What’s selling? For the guys wondering, we’re bringing you a numbers report for our favorite consoles. The list includes the current console heavyweights (Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360), as well as numbers for the PSP and DS portables. And now for the list proper:
- America: 5.38 million
- Japan: 0.32 million
- Others: 2.64 million
- America: 1.86 million
- Japan: 1.20 million
- Others: 0.94 million
PS3: 1.41 million
- America: 0.86 million
- Japan: 0.55 million
- Others:0 million
DS: 36.34 million
- America: 10.74 million
- Japan: 14.62 million
- Others: 10.98 million
PSP: 19.90 million
- America: 7.49 million
- Japan: 4.96 million
- Others: 7.45 million
Take note that this isn’t an exact count – it’s just an estimate. And on a further note, the list doesn’t seem to include the numbers for the PS3’s Europe launch; we’ll assume it’s listed under the “Others” category. The odd bit here is that the PS3 registered “0” sales outside Japan and the U.S. For now, we strongly advise cross-referencing this report with others, like the upcoming NPD report this January 11.
