Tough as nails: Xbox 360 survives nasty car crash
Alright, this isn’t exactly earth-shattering news, hence we’re filing this article under the “off-topic” category. But this little tidbit just simply made us smile so we couldn’t pass it up.
Over at the Xbox forums, ZiKrOnIx has posted his unfortunate hit-and-run experience. The truck that he was driving ended up rolling three or four times because of the impact. He was thankful that he made it out of the wreck with only a bruised elbow, but even more thankful to find that his 360 was still somewhat whole even after getting thrown out of the car seat and getting run over by a vehicle (with tiremarks to prove it, too; just check out those photos). To assess the situation, he writes:
I walked over and picked up the 360. Face plate not to be found. 360 had a tire mark on it. It had been ran over. Along with one of my wireless controllers and my remote and power brick. The power brick was ran over but shows no signs of damage. The games were ran over… The 360 Got ran over it was squished. one of the metal supports on the side was bent. And when I picked it up the case fell off. I straightened the metal side and put the case back together and turned it on. It fired up and went to the dash I popped in a game and it read. Played for a little bit then watched a dvd. looks good to me.
We’re beginning to wonder if Microsoft can be commissioned to make bomb shelters out of 360s.
More pics of the wreckage after the jump!
