Transcode 360: Developer Documentation Now Available
The last time we heard a Transcode 360 (T360) update from author Albert Griscti-Soler was back in May, when he started work on his My Movies integration project with another author named Brian.
Those who aren’t familiar with Transcode 360, it’s an add-on that enables the playback of unsupported video over Xbox 360 and Media Center Extender devices. Simply put, it allows you to stream almost any video to your Xbox 360. What’s more, it transcodes the video on-the-fly. It’s designed to run on Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.
Homebrew warriors who are looking to integrate T360 with their own apps would be happy with the author’s quick primer and sample code demo on how to query and control T360. The developer documentation is available over at runtime360.com.
Transcode 360 is currently on version Beta 4.1. The author has also fixed a few long-standing bugs and is currently testing a new version on his new dual core Media Center setup. He’s not quite sure if he’ll time its release with My Movies, which is already in its final stages.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the release would come sooner than later.
