*Update* Scans of Densha de Go for the Wii

Densha de Go!Last month, Nintendo released a massive list of Wii titles available at launch and those currently under development. One title listed under TBA was Densha de Go! Shinkansen ’06: Sanyou Shinkansen Hen or simply Densha de Wii. A Nintendo 64 original, it is actually a train simulation game that then came with a unique train driving controller.

The Wii version, as the name suggests, gives players the opportunity to control Japan‘s famous bullet train – Sanyou. The game includes five Shinkansen trains that go from Shin Osaka to Fukuyama and Hiroshima.

Actually, there are a couple of modes within the game. The Kids mode is all about the simplified train operation. Speed adjustment can be done by shaking the Wiimote while pointing it to the background will activate hidden characters. On-screen readouts are also provided. Then you have the Free Run mode which uses real time tables and requires managerial skills of your train cars. Accordingly, this mode uses the standard button interface.

We’ve also heard that players can view the action from a first person point of view or even from outside the train. Aside from all the features we loved in the N64 version, a gallery containing video footages and pictures of real Shinkansen trains will also be included. While that’s all we know as of now, Taito is planning to release the game in Japan this coming February, so all you train fans out there won’t have too long to wait.

Update: There are certain ways to take a shortcut to this really long game title, such as Densha de Wii or simply, Densha de Go, so take your pick. Although train simulation isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, who knows? This may be a hit in Japan, just like its “non-gaming” DS predecessor, Brain Age As of now, details about this title are still scarce, but we’ll sure give you a heads-up once we got our hands on them. Meanwhile, check the Famitsu scans we have for you below:
