Homebrew developer myschoo, author of HideFile PRX, has released SSR PRX which lets PSP users turn their devices on suspend mode, standby mode or let it reboot. The Suspend, Standby and Reboot app (hence SSR) has been tested and designed “specifically” for custom firmware 3.71 M33.

Rebooting the device or putting it on suspend or standby is done by pressing a combination of buttons. Here’s the developer’s notes:

  • Installation:
  1. Open .RAR.
  2. Copy ssr.prx to ms0:/seplugins/.
  3. Create blank vsh.txt and add line: ms0:/seplugins/ssr.prx
  4. Turn on the PSP and boot to Recovery Menu.
  5. Enable plugin from “Plugins” menu.
  6. Exit recovery. Plugin has been installed.
  • Usage:
    • HOME+START    = Suspend Mode (also know as “Sleep” mode)
    • HOME+LTRIGGER = Standby Mode (shut down)
    • HOME+RTRIGGER = Reboot PSP   (TIP: Hold RTRIGGER to get into Recovery Menu)

If users have any questions regarding the plugin they are encouraged to go to the PSP Development Forum thread (via our link below) for discussion.

Quick on his feet, myschoo has responded right away to calls for help on a bug discovered in his freshly released SSR PRX. Thanks to seriosbrad’s diligence, it was called to myschoo’s attention that having the plugin enabled keeps him from launching any of the homebrew apps. According to seriosbrad’s description, “[i]t would hang at the white PSP screen and then eventually shut down.”

But that shouldn’t be a problem now as myschoo has figured out what could have gone wrong, and has thus already fixed it. So for you guys not to have that problem, go ahead and download this updated version right here, the SSR PRX v1.1. Enjoy!
