US programmers earn more than Euro counterparts

Games Industry reports that, according to the Game Developer Salary Report: 2004 – 2007, game programmers earn 33% less in Europe than in America. Furthermore, if you’re looking to get into the games industry itself, the best place to sign up would be in the business and legal sectors, which net workers an average of 53,000 Euros (US$ 70,000) yearly.

The worst place in the games industry to work? Well, it seems the gopher job for the games industry lies in Quality Assurance, which earns approximately half the amount. Still, if there’s ever a place you wanted to get free games, it would probably be a great place to start, at the very least.
