US VC Update: Yoshi’s Story, Super Thunder Blade, World Class Baseball
Three more different but timeless systems of the past come blasting our way this time from US VC. First up from the Nintendo 64 is Yoshi’s Story. Play as the long-tongued green dinosaur once more in this epic adventure to turn Yoshi’s Island back into what it was – before Baby Bowser came along and transformed it into a picture book.
To make things worse, the normally-cheerful island is now full of doom and gloom, as the Super Happy Tree has been stolen right from underneath everyone’s noses. With the Yoshis’ unlimited supplies of egg and fruit, and your own tongue, save the world once more – just like how that Italian plumber does. Yoshi’s Story is available for download at a measly 1000 Wii Points.
Next is Super Thunder Blade from the Sega Genesis. Step into the one helicopter that’s going to take an entire world on in a massive firefight that’s sure to keep you at the edge of your seat.
Everything from guerrilla armies to tanks and battle cruisers will be firing live ammunition at you, and it’s up to you to blow them to smithereens first. Intense shoot-em-up action at its best, Super Thunder Blade will run you for about 800 Wii Points.
Finally, after all the koopa-bopping and the army-fragging, it’s time to settle things like gentlemen with World Class Baseball from the TurboGrafx16. Face off against hilariously-named teams packing some serious muscle before stepping into the world stage with the best of the best, the Turbo Tigers. Batter up! You can take yourself and a friend to the ballgame for the ticket price of 600 Wii Points.
That’s it for this Virtual Console update – here’s hoping the retro goodness flows unabated this holiday season. As always, keep it locked right here for future developments regarding the Wii’s Virtual Console feature.
